The Metro Unit of Delhi Police traced 13 missing children and women under 'Operation Milap'. Some of the children were missing since five years.
The persons were missing since December 2020 and missing persons report were filed at various police stations.
DCP Metro, Jitendra Mani stated that out of these 13 persons, 11 are minors while two are women. The team led by Inspector Ajay Kumar traced the missing persons after various efforts. A special team was constituted to trace these missing persons.
The police started out of these children one is a nine-year-old child of Holambi Kalan who was missing from Narela Industrial Estate who was found near the same area's railway crossing. Two minor children of four and two years of age respectively who were missing since 2015 from Pravesh Nagar were found from Gautam Buddh Nagar in UP.
Another 14-year-old girl from Holambi Khurd was found who was also missing from Narela Industrial Estate. Similarly, another 13-year-old girl who was missing from Mangolpuri was also found. A 14-year-old girl from Trilokpuri was reported missing in Kalyanpur police station who was also successfully found from Ludhiana in Punjab.
A 12-year-old child from North Rohini and a nine year old of Pandav Nagar were also found by the same team.
The police team traced a 24-year-old woman of Mubarakpur who was reported missing in Aman Vihar police station. Another 35-year-old woman alongwith her three children of six, four and one and half years of age respectively were found by the police from Kirari Suleman Nagarb while other were reportedly found near Mundka.
The police stated that during the search of above said victims, local enquiry was initiated at nearby bus stops, railway stations, metro stations and children homes. Several inquires were made about these missing children and women. Many phone calls were made to trace them and the help of technical surveillance was also taken.
From the time of its inception, Operation Milap 48 missing children were traced by the Metro unit till date and overall 71 children including one Divyaang boy and five women have been traced by the staff of Metro unitt of Delhi Police from the different area of Delhi/NCR and other states and handed over to their parents.
