The Delhi Crime Branch arrested three Bangladeshi nationals for alleged dacoity in the national capital. Around 18 cases of Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad got detected after the arrests of these persons.
This is the same gang that allegedly committed sensational dacoity in Kavi Nagar of Ghaziabad.
The accused have been identified as Mohd. Khairul alias Arman (45), Mohd. Montu Mulla (30) and Mohd. Sadik Sheikh (29) all from Khulna in Bangladesh.
Add CP Shibesh Singh stated that Mohd. Khairul who is the gang leader who along with other members of the gang has committed crimes in several parts of the country and after committing the crime they flee to Bangladesh to again return to commit more dacoity.
Speaking about the Ghaziabad incident, the officials added that on February 28 at about 03:30 AM, five persons committed a dacoity in the upscale area of Kavi Nagar in Ghaziabad. Four accused entered into the house after cutting the window, two of them had knife and other two had pistol. They held the complainant, his wife and their two sons captive at gun point and looted all the valuables. They threatened the family to kill them if they resisted. After committing the crime they fled away in a car brought by one of their associates namely Rajeev Srivastava.
When the police began probing the case, they found that several incidents of burglary were reported in Delhi & NCR with the same modus operandi.
The officials added that through the networks of informers and technical & manual surveillance, it came to notice that a criminal gang led by one Mohd. Khairul is active in India and they are previously involved in many heinous crimes across the country. Khairul was allegedly operating from Lado Sarai.
The crime branch team under DCP Bhisham Singh reached the spot to lay a trap. The team found the trio walking towards a point where the informers identified them as the same gang. The crime branch apprehended them immediately.
The police found house breaking implements and stolen gold & silver jewellery, expensive wrist watches were recovered from their possession during the time of arrest.
The officials added that during interrogation, Mohd. Khairul is the gang leader and is committing the crime since 1997. Mohd. Khairul and Montu Mulla illegally entered India through Satkhira Border, West Bengal, in the month of October 2020. Sadiq Seikh illegally entered in India about one and a half years ago and was residing in Kolkata with his family. In 2012 the gang leader Mohd. Khairul met with one of his associates, Rajeev Srivastava, an Indian resident in Tihar Jail who usually provides them assistance in getting a rented house and car for committing the crime. The gang targeted the houses of posh colonies, and mostly entered the houses in the late night through the window after cutting the grills of the window to commit theft. If any of the house members awoke, they used to overpower all the members of the house at gunpoint and looted all the valuables. If any member would have resisted, they did not hesitate to kill.
Mohd Khairul was previously involved in Keshav Puram, Kotwali, Ashok Vihar, Lajpat Nagar, Bharat Nagar while Sadiq was previously involved in Bawana, police added.
With the arrest of the gang the police have detected 18 cases of burglary and dacoity registered in Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Noida, Delhi, Faridabad, Palam Vihar
