TISS student found dead after a party Navi Mumbai

The victim had gone to a party in Vashi in Navi Mumbai on August 23 night, where over 100 students were also present

New Delhi, August 27

A student from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was found dead in his rented flat in Mumbai's Chembur.

The student identified as Anurag Jaiswal (29) from Lucknow, was studying in the first year of the Human Resource Program at TISS.

The police stated that he had gone to a party in Vashi in Navi Mumbai on August 23 night, where over 100 students were also present. He didn't wake up on next morning, following which his roommates rushed him to a hospital, where he was declared dead.

The police added that he had consumed alcohol at the party however there were no reports of any ragging or fight. 

The police have sought his post mortem report to ascertain the cause of his death while his family in Lucknow was called. 

The institute said in a post on X, "It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing away of Anurag Jaiswal, first year student of HRM&LR of TISS Mumbai. We are with Anurag’s family at this heartbreaking time and our thoughts and prayers will always be with the Anurag's family."
