UPSC students death- CBI sends IIT- Delhi experts to examine the gate of Rau's IAS Academy

The SUV that drove in the rainwater causing the academy's gate to cash will also be inspected by a domain expert, a motor vehicle inspection

New Delhi, August 29

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the Rau's Academy students death case sent a a team of experts from IIT Delhi to examine the gate of the building where the Rau's IAS Study Circle. 

The police had also arrested the SUV driver and seized his vehicle for driving his vehicle through a flooded road in front of Rau's coaching centre, causing the water to swell and breach the gates of the building.

The CBI further stated that the SUV will also be inspected by a domain expert, a motor vehicle inspector. 

The CBI's investigation has revealed that the three UPSC aspirants, Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni, and Nevin Dalvin, died due to asphyxia caused by drowning. The probe also found that several students were studying in the basement of the coaching centre during the heavy rain.

The probe showed that all the floors including basement were used by the said coaching institute. The basement was used for the purpose of library where students used to sit throughout the day for study as well as for taking test conducted by coaching institute.

The CBI report also mentioned that the rainwater entered the ground floor due to sudden fall of sliding gates of main building and subsequently entered the basement resulting its flooding”.
