Woman tenant kills former police personnel of Odisha over strained relationship

New Delhi, June 3
A tenant of a retired police officer in Odisha’s Berhampur killed ther former police official by allegedly pouring kerosene over him.
The victim, Harihar Sahu, a retired Reserve Inspector (RI), had reportedly developed a personal relationship with Sudeshna Jena, who had been living as a tenant in his home. However, the duo were recently facing a strained relationship from some time.
The police stated Sudeshna allegedly poured kerosene on Sahu and set him ablaze. He was initially rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur and later referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack due to the severity of his injuries. He succumbed to his burns while undergoing treatment.
During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to the crime and admitted that the act was pre-planned, police added.
