The Delhi Police South District arrested a woman who allegedly conspired with her lover to kill her husband.
The accused has been identified bas Rohan Kumar alias Manish (23) of Govindpuri while the woman (41) if from Chirag Delhi.
DCP (South) Atul Thakur stated that the police scanned 100 CCTV cameras and searched for routes through the camera to zero down the accused.
As per the case details, The Defence Colony Police Station had received one PCR call regarding an unknown man on a motorcycle firing and later received another call of an injured man found at Andrews Ganj.
Then police said, on enquiry, it was revealed that one unknown motorcycle rider had fired on a Taxi Car driver in front of BSES office, Andrews Ganj and fled away from the spot. The car driver sustained gunshot injury on his neck and became unconscious. Further, the injured was admitted in hospital for medical treatment. The police had registered a case under the Arms Act.
Both cases were initially termed 'blind' by police as there was no clue to the accused.
The police added that the team collected CCTV footages of crime vicinity and briefly analyzed the same to get any clue about the incident. During analyzing, it was revealed that accused came on a motorcycle but the number plates of front and back were bent by the accused. The team questioned the family members of injured, but no particular enmity, quarrel or threat was noticed.
The police checked kore than 100 CCTV cameras and checked routes of the cameras too. While checking the route in a CCTV footage some blurred digits of front number plate of the motorcycle was revealed. The police prepared about 100 combinations of registration numbers and got ownerships of all registration numbers developed with the combinations. The team shortlisted two motorcycles and address registered with both motorcycles were checked and one of the them came into suspicion having address at Kabir Nagar im Rana Pratap Bagh. The police then got clues of the motorcycles from insurance company.
The police team traced the registered owner however it was revealed that he had sold the motorcycle to a person through his known. Further, buyer disclosed that he sold the said motorcycle further to one Manish at Govindpuri, but he did not know the address.
The police increased surveillance on Rohana alias Manish who was later arrested from Govindpuri.
The police seized one semi-automatic pistol with two live cartridges, the motorcycle used in commission of offence.
The police stated that during the course of interrogation, Rohan disclosed that he alongwith the wife of injured hatched a conspiracy to kill accused woman’s husband due to their friendship. He further disclosed that on her instruction, he purchased the semi automatic pistol and cartridges from a friend in Burari to murder her husband. The woman also contributed an amount of 30,000/- rupees for the entire conspiracy.
The accused had also attempted to murder the victim on earlier occasion in a park, but was unsuccessful. The conspiracy was hatched around 15 days ago at the victim’s house, police added.
The accused has been arrested for attempt to murder and other relevant charges under the sections of the Indian Penal Code.
