Adv Renu Sinha Murder-Husband, a former IIS officer hid in storeroom, showed house to buyers with body lying in the house

The Noida Police probing the murder case of senior lawyer Renu Sinha found out that her husbandm a forner Indian Information Services (IIS) officer first strangulated her to death while fighting over selling off their Noida house and then showed their house around to buyers on the same day while she lied dead in the bathroom of the house.
Renu Sinha (61) was a senior advocate working in Delhi courts while Nitin Nath Singh (62) was a 1986 batch IIS officer and opted for voluntary retirement (VRS) from service in 1998; his last posting was in the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP).
When the Noida Police came knowcking on the door looking for Renu Sinha after her brother Ajay Kumar was searching for her since two days, Renu's accused husband, Nitin Nath Singh hid inside the storeroom with his immediate belongings including passport, food, water, cigrrattes and more and stayed put as police didn't find him in the first search.
The couple who were married for 33 years stayed in the Sector 30 house which Singh wanted to sell while their son works as a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley in the US and visits once or twice a year.
Renu’s brother who raised an alarm when he couldn’t reach her. Once her body was found at the house at 5 pm, he raised suspicion over Nitin’s involvement. After hiding in the storeroom, he had switched off his phone too.
The police investigation shows that Renu had bone cancer and inflammation in the pancreas. Nitin grabbed her neck and pushed her, she fell on the bed. He then strangled her and she started bleeding from the ear untill she died. Nitin then went upstairs to smoke a cigarette. He came back down and locked the bedroom. Around 12.30 pm, a broker came with two people to show them the house. Nitin took them to the first floor and said the ground floor was similar. The buyers were convinced, they did not ask to open the room where he hid the body. After the broker left, Nath locked the main gate with a chain and all the doors. He then took his wife’s phone and passport, cigarettes and water and hid in a small storeroom on the first floor, which usually remained shut after his mother died of Covid.
According to the police, he had finalised a deal to sell their house and had received Rs 55 lakh out of the total deal of Rs 4.5 crore. However, Renu was not agreeing for the same and often fought over the matter. The police checked the CCTV of the neighbours where Nitin wasn't found either coming in or going out for several hours and then police began searching inside the house for him.
The police added that after serving in the government job, he worked for an American firm, Innodata, which provides business process, technology and consulting services, in a senior management position till 2013. After that, he worked for a while for the Indian Media Association (IMA) where he handled communication-related matters. He had also launched a company called Storm Publication Private Limited for publishing medical journals and articles of doctors.
