Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani dies in Ahmedabad air crash

Vijay Rupani was 17th CM of Gujarat who was on board in Ahmedabad - Gatwick Air India flight

New Delhi, June 12

The tragic air crash of Air India London bound flight has taken lives of 241 people including former Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani. 

Rupani was on 12th seat of the aircraft enroute London to meet his son ad pick up his wife who was in London from last six months. 

The authorities after five hours of thorough rescue operations and proving medical ade to the injured at the Ahmedabad civil hospital informed that only one injured man had a miraculous escape. 

All 241 passengers on board were confirmed dead by authorities late evening. One Ramesh Vishwas Kumar from Leicester has survived te deadliest crash of the decade. 

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik told media that chances of survival of injured was slim. 

The aircraft crashed into BJ Medical College body hostel when students were reportedly inside. The damage to the building was huge however authorities hve not confirmed if there are ay casualties or injuries in the hostel. 

BJP Minister CR Patil confirmed to media on Rupani's tragic demise.

Rupani was 69 and survived by his wife and son.
