Amity Univ Student Suicide- Noida Police arrests deceased's former girlfriend

New Delhi, January 15

The Noida Police probing the suicide of Amity University law student have arrested his classmate for abetment of suicide. The female accused was allegedly found culpable. 

The incident had taken place at Supreme Tower Society in Noida’s Sector 99. The student, who was in his second year, had come to visit his friends living in the building. Around 4.30 pm, he fell from the 7th floor of an 18-storey building under suspicious circumstances. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment where doctors declared him dead.

The girl and the deceased had been in a relationship for over two years. The girl had called it off and the student was upset about it, added police. The police added that the duo met at his friend’s flat (in Noida) and the conversation of their relationship cropped up that allegedly left the deceased upset.

The body was found in a secluded area, which has been under construction for several months. The father of the boy had filed a case against his classmate for abetment of suicide. 

The police had registered FIR under section 108 (abetment of suicide) of the BNS based on the father’s complaint.
