Animal parts found at a temple in Kannauj, Govt shunts out SP and DM

New Delhi, July 18
The UP Government while taking a stren action in the case of body parts of an animal found outside the entrance of a temple in Rasoolabad village have shunted out the the Superintendent of Police and District Magistrate of Kannauj were removed from their posts.
SP of Kannauj Rajesh Srivastava and DM Rakesh Kumar have been removed from their posts. Shubhrant Shukla would be the new DM of Kannauj, while Kunwar Anupam Singh would take over as the new SP of Kannauj.
The incident sparked protests in the village.
The police also arrested 13 persons in connection with the arson and protests that broke out after the incident.
The government also suspended the Station House Officer of Talgram police station.
Jitendra Pratap Singh would be the new SHO.
As per the case details, a farmer who sleeps inside the temple found parts of animal body wrapped in a sack at the entrance. The police were alerted and teams were sent to the spot.
As soon as the news spread in the village, the villagers formed a group and protested. The protests turned serious into an incident of arson.
After hours of protest and violence, the police brought the situation under control.
The police have lodged two FIRs in the case and termed the incident as an act to disturb communal harmony.
