Bihar Police books social media handle for spreading fake news of educator Khan Sir's arrest

The protesting candidates are demanding a uniform 'one shift, one paper' examination to avoid disparities caused by the normalisation process

The Bihar Police have registered an FIR against the X handle 'Khan Global Studies', associated with renowned educator and YouTuber, Faizal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir for spreading fake news.

 

The controversy erupted after the handle shared a post demanding Khan Sir's release, despite him "never being arrested". The police clarified that the post was misleading, baseless, and provocative, aimed at confusing students.

As per the case details, amidst ongoing protests by civil service aspirants against the 'normalisation' process in the Bihar Public Service Commission's (BPSC) preliminary examinations. The protesting candidates are demanding a uniform 'one shift, one paper' examination to avoid disparities caused by the normalisation process.

 

The police resorted to lathi-charge to disperse hundreds of aspirants who had gathered near the BPSC office in Patna. 

 

The police added that Khan came to the protest site of his own accord and was later dropped off near Atal Path in a police vehicle at his request.

 

However, some images and videos going viral on social media showed Khan seated in a police van and being escorted from the protest site, and later the social media was abuzz about his arrest. 

 

Bihar Police has denied stating that Khan was neither detained nor arrested.
