CBI arrests Superintendent of GST in Hyderabad in a bribery case

The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant for revoking the suspension of GSTIN : CBI

New Delhi, March 27 

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested accused Superintendent of GST, Medak, Hyderabad, Telangana for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 8,000 from the complainant.

The CBI said that a case was registered  by CBI against said accused on allegations that accused demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant for revoking the suspension of GSTIN of complainant’s Proprietorship firm, which was suspended due to the non-filing of returns.  

CBI laid a trap and caught accused Superintendent of GST red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.8,000 from the complainant on March 21 at the O/o Superintendent, GST, Medchal Commissionerate, Medak, Telangana. 

Searches were conducted by CBI at residential and official premises of the accused at Medak & Hyderabad and native place Jehanabad (Bihar) which led to recovery of some incriminating documents, CBI said.
