CBI arrests two accused from Syampur colliery in Jharkhand in a bribery case

Manager demanded Rs. 50000/- as undue advantage for retaining complainant at 'Magazine Room' : CBI

New Delhi, October 1

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two accused including Manager Syampur "B" Colliery and a General Majdoor while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000/- from the complainant.

The officials informed that a case was registered by CBI on a complaint by a General Majdoor, Syampur "B" Colliery Mugma Area, Nirsa, Dhanbad against accused Manager, Syampur "B" Colliery. 

It was alleged that  said accused Manager demanded  Rs. 50000/- as undue advantage for retaining complainant at 'Magazine Room', his present place of posting otherwise complainant suspected that accused will send complainant  to other place in the same colliery. 

During investigation, accused  directed the complainant to handover the bribe amount to another General Majdoor (his conduit) in the same Colliery.

CBI laid a trap and caught said conduit General Majdoor red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs 20000/- on behalf of main accused who were later arrested. The agency also conducted searches at the premises of the accused.
