CBI books an ITS officer from Rajasthan for disproportianate assests

The public servant had acquired assets in his name and in the name of his family members to the tune of Rs.1. 48 crores which were disproportionate to his known sources of income : CBI

New Delhi, August 23

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) booked an ITS Officer of 1999 batch and others, on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets. 

The CBI stated that the officer while working in Rajasthan amassed assets in his name and in the name of his family members (Wife), (Mother) and HUF at Jaipur, Ajmer and other different places in Rajasthan. It was further alleged that the said public servant had acquired assets in his name and in the name of his family members to the tune of Rs.1. 48 crores which were disproportionate to his known sources of income during the period from 01.01.2014 to 31.01.2017.

The agency then conducted searches at five locations including at Jaipur, Ajmer and Ahmedabad at official and residential premises of accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents and Rs. 2.5 lakhs from the residence of the accused at Ajmer.

The CBI is further probing the case.
