CBI books senior Passport Superintendent in Ghaziabad for possessing disproportionate assets

New Delhi, March 27
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked senior Passport Superintendent, Regional Passport Office, Ghaziabad in disproportionate assets case.
The CBI stated while working as Assistant Passport Superintendent, Passport Superintendent and Sr. Passport Superintendent at Regional Passport Office, Ghaziabad, UP enriched himself illicitly during the period from 30.07.2018 to 30.09.2024 and is in possession of pecuniary resources to the tune of Rs. 85,06,900 lakhs (146.43%) which is disproportionate to his known sources of income and which he cannot satisfactorily account for.
The CBI added that after registration of the case, searches were conducted by CBI at residential and official premises of accused at three locations which led to recovery of Rs. 60 lakhs cash and several incriminating documents pertaining to Bank Deposits, Sale Deeds, Investment Receipts of Mutual Funds/ Life Insurance Policies, vehicle RCs, etc.
