The Investiture Ceremony of 92 Sub-Inspectors (28th Batch) of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was solemnized at CBI Academy, Ghaziabad.
Praveen Sood, Director, CBI was the Chief Guest during the Investiture Ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Praveen Sood, Director, CBI complimented the officers and staff of CBI Academy for putting in hard work towards sharpening the skills of the young officers. Referring to the composition of officers from variety of fields, Sood expressed satisfaction that lady officers are increasingly joining CBI which he said a welcome sign.
Sood asked officers to render their best services making best use of the skills learned at the Academy, to serve the organizational goal of CBI as the leading investigative agency. This, he emphasized, should remain their top priority. He also stressed that the true learning of the officers begins now as they embark on the real work during their deployment for investigation, prosecution etc. which offers enormous opportunities to further sharpen the skills.
Director CBI further emphasized that CBI offers immense opportunities for appreciation of good work and advised them not to look for appreciation through outside platforms like social media. He also asked officers to draw inspiration from CBI motto of Industry, Impartiality and Integrity at all times. With integrity and impartiality in its DNA, Sood stressed that the officers must remain insulated from external influences. He added that officers and their families should be prepared to serve anywhere in India. Calling for smart work, Director CBI underlined that hard work implies using skills productively for achieving desired results with minimum efforts. He advised officers to maintain a healthy work-life balance without ignoring their families.
During the ceremony, CBI Director distributed Medals and Trophies to the trainees. Srivathsan V was awarded “DP Kohli Award for Best All-Round SI Trainee” and also “DCBI Trophy for Indoor Studies”. Raj Kiran was awarded “Trophy for Cyber Crime Investigation”. Shri Vimal Singh Adhikari was selected for the “John Lobo Trophy for Best Outdoor” and Megha Parashar received the “CBI Academy Trophy for Dedication and Exemplary Conduct”.
Young CBI officers underwent 8 months of hard, toil and diligent training who had joined at CBI Academy, Ghaziabad on 12th February, 2024 for their Basic Training after being selected through SSC (Combined Graduate Level Examination) and LDCE. The cadets were trained in Law & Investigative Skills, Investigation of Anti-Corruption Cases, different types of Conventional Crimes, Collection of Intelligence, Economic Offences, Cyber Crime Cases, Bank Fraud Cases, Mobile Forensic, Forensic and Scientific Tools, etc.
The training program also included strengthening skills in collection of physical and electronic evidences, scientific aids to investigation like polygraph, brain mapping, narco-analysis, DNA fingerprinting etc. The course also aimed to inculcate highest standards of professional integrity and rectitude, respect for human rights and sense of discipline in the trainees. The Trainee Officers were given ground level experience through District Police Units (Urban & Rural) and visits to NFSU, IB, SEBI, SFIO and a nationalized bank and were also attached to Law Officers.
Senior officers of CBI including Sampat Meena, Additional Director; Manoj Shashidhar, Additional Director; N Venugopal, Additional Director; AYV Krishna, Additional Director, Dr. Padmini Singh, Director of Prosecution attended the ceremony along with officers of other departments and Local Administration.
