CISF restores bag of a passenger carrying cash of Rs. 2.54 lakhs

The cash bag belonged to one Rajat Kumar from Haryana who had misplaced it

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) restored a stolen bag of a passenger carrying cash over Rs. 2.54 lakhs.

The CISF noticed an unattended bag lying on the output roller of X-BIS machine at Kashmere Gate metro station. He asked the passerby passengers but no one came forward to claim the bag. Thereafter, the bag was checked from security point of view. 

The officials stated that after ascertaining that there was no dangerous/hazardous item inside the bag, it was opened. On opening the bag, cash amounting to Rs 2,54,000/- was found inside the bag. The bag along with cash was deposited with the Station Controller and the announcement was made at the station/nearby stations in this regard.

The officials further stated that a passenger later identified as Rajat Neeraj Kumar from Haryana came at the security point and claimed the bag. He was brought to the Station Controller Room, where he informed that he had forgot to collect his bag, after putting the same for x-ray screening. After proper verification, the bag containing cash amounting to Rs 2,54,000/- was restored to Mr. Rajat. On getting his bag along-with cash, he thanked CISF and appreciated the alertness & honesty displayed by CISF personnel.
