Comedian Sunil Pal, Mushtaq Khan kidnapping - UP Police announce reward for main accused

The Uttar Pradesh in Meerut have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information on fugitive Lavi Pal, the main accused in the alleged abductions of actor Mushtaq Khan and comedian Sunil Pal. 

Five members of the gang have been arrested so far – Arjun Karnwal, former councillor Sarthak Chaudhary, Azim, Sabiuddin and Shashank. Karnwal was hit by a police bullet allegedly after he tried to escape from custody while being taken for his medical examination and has been admitted to the district hospital. 

The police are conducting raids to nab Lavi Pal and four others. 

Meanwhile, an undertrial in Meerut jail claimed that he too was abducted by the same gang from Meerut on October 1 last year and released in Bijnor a day later after he paid a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. The inmate claimed he had filed a complaint with the Meerut police later while attaching his wife Aarti’s complaint to police on his alleged kidnapping.
