Couple on a bike with 10-months-old hit by a car in Delhi'sKalindi Kunj

The bike rider Mohmmad Shami was thrown on Yamuna river and police have launched operations to search for him

New Delhi, November 4

In a tragic incident, a tech professional is feared to be dead after he was thrown into the Yamuna following from the Kalindi Kunj bridge in New Delhi. His wife and 10-month-old daughter were injured in the crash. 

The police stated that victim, Mohammad Shami and his family were returning home to Abul Fazal Enclave near Shaheen Bagh after visiting a relative in Noida when their motorcycle was hit from behind by a speeding car. The police suspect that the driver of the car might have been under the influence of alcohol.

He was flung over the guardrail and into the river by the impact of the collision while his wife Arshi Rafiq (30) and daughter sustained spinal and leg fractures. 

The police have launched a search operation involving police, divers, and a boat club rescue team has to locate Shami. 

The police have registered an FIR against the car driver under sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
