CRPF apprehends 24 Maoists in CG, 24 individuals in NE while seizing huge haul of arms

New Delhi, March 17
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), displaying professionalism and gallantry, has achieved significant successes in February.
The CRPF made some notable apprehensions in tackling Left Wing Extremism (LWE )
The officials said that 24 Maoists arrested, including 2 from Andhra Pradesh, 17 from Bijapur, and 5 from Sukma (Chhattisgarh). 20 Maoists surrendered during the period.
14 arms (10 from Jharkhand, 4 from Chhattisgarh). 532 rounds of ammunition (West Singhbhum, Jharkhand).
110 kg of explosives (86 kg from Chhattisgarh, 20 kg from Jharkhand, 4 kg from Andhra Pradesh).2 26 IEDs, 3 grenades, 25 detonators, 130 gelatin sticks, and Rs. 1.5 lakh in cash, officials further stated.
In J&K, CRPF seized 268 rounds of ammunition (22 Feb, 126 Bn & SOG, Simbli, Shajroo, Reasi), 4 rockets in District Reasi and 2 IEDs in Districts Pulwama & Shopian.
In the North East, CRPF apprehended 24 individuals and recovered 120 arms, 586 rounds of ammunition, 8 grenades, 64 bombs, 6 IEDs, 64 gelatin sticks, 282 kg of narcotics, and ₹9.8 lakh in cash.
To strengthen the manpower, the Centre sanctioned 38 posts for two Armed Workshops (AWS) in Ranchi and Jagdalpur, ensuring seamless technical support in LWE-affected regions.
18 civilian Matron and Assistant Matron posts have been combatized to Assistant Commandant (Matron) in CRPF.
For the welfare of it's personnel, the CRPF signed a MoU with SBI tat ensures Rs. 10 lakh insurance for normal death cases, accidental insurance up to Rs. 1 crore and Rs.10 crore for martyrs.
The force also signed a MoU signed with Arka Jain University, Jamshedpur for CRPF wards.
Among the helpline numbers circulated for all CRPF formations, 63 grievances were received from NOKs/families of martyrs; 26 resolved, 37 under process, officials added.
