CRPF official martyred during an IED blast in Odisha

CRPF identified him as ASI Satyaban Kumar Singh (34) of 134th CRPF battalion

New Delhi, June 14

A young CRPF official was killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Odisha's Sundergarh district. 

CRPF identified him as ASI Satyaban Kumar Singh (34) of 134th CRPF battalion. 

CRPF stated that troops of 134 Bn and SOG Odisha conducted Op, wherein an IED Blast took place. ASI/GD Satyaban Kumar Singh (34) a resident of Kushinagar in UP. 

He had received injury on his leg and evacuated to Apollo hospital Rourkela in critical condition. Unfortunately he attained martyrdom, CRPF added. 

The blast took place around 6 am near the K Balang village of Rourkela when a joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and special operations group (SOG) of Odisha Police was carrying out a combing operation in the area, officials added.
