Delhi Crime Branch arrests a wanted criminal who has escape to Russia after a murder case

The Delhi Police arrested a man wanted in an attempt to murder case of 2015, from Sagarpur.
The accused identified as Kapil Chauhan was declared a proclaimed person by the court on May 18, 2023.
As per the case details, the incident of murder took place on August 30, 2015. The complainant, Vivek along with his brother Ritesh was leaving from Gandhi Market area in Sagarpur after having dinner. They parked their motorcycle near Nagi Clinic on the drain and Vivek started talking to his acquaintance, Ajay Kumar. His brother Ritesh, meanwhile, went ahead for a walk when two other persons came on a motorcycle on the drain. Their motorcycle slightly touched Ritesh leading to an argument with the boys, after which both the boys started beating him.
Vivek ran to save Ritesh and tried to free him when four to five more boys two of them carrying sticks in their hands came and started beating the brothers.
After assaulting the brothers, he was at large and also filed anticipatory bail which was rejected by the court. He absconded and avoided his arrest intentionally, before leaving to Russia in 2021.
The police said Chauhan went to Russia on an excuse to learn the Russian language and returned in August 2024. Kapil Chauhan, was a habitual criminal and was previously involved in two other cases, officials added.
