The Delhi Crime Branch held a wanted historysheeter in an encounter. Thr accused involved in over 25 criminal cases.
The accused was identified as Amit Singh alias Amit Chor, a proclaimed offender in a murder and burglary case, was apprehended after a brief encounter with the crime branch team.
The crime branch stated that on the night of August 9-10, 2024, unknown persons broke into a residence in the Jaitpur area. During the burglary, the assailants stabbed the complainant’s father (63) who was sleeping at the time and fled with gold and cash. The victim was declared dead at the hospital.
During the investigation, one accused was apprehended, and Amit Singh alias Amit Chor was declared a proclaimed offender by the court.
The crime branch received a specific intelligence received by HC Dharmender, it was learned that Amit Singh would travel toward Tuglakabad village via Mehrauli-Badarpur Road on a scooty. A trap was laid near Tuglakabad Fort.
Add CP (Crime) Sanjay Sain stated that the accused was spotted riding a scooty without a number plate and was signaled to stop. However, he opened fire on the police team. A warning shot was fired in the air, but the accused continued firing. In retaliation, police fired at the accused, hitting him in the leg.
The accused was overpowered and rushed to the hospital for treatment, officials further added.
