Delhi Crime branch arrests one from Gurugram wanted in Malviyanagar murder

The victim had allegedly invited Virender, to a party on April 11 at his flat where the former “challenged his masculinity” on which the accused strangled him on the spot

New Delhi, May 27

The Delhi Police arrested a man for allegedly strangling another in a fit of rage during a party in south Delhi.

The accused was identified as Virender (33), a Sonipat resident. The victim had allegedly invited Virender, to a party on April 11 at his flat where the former “challenged his masculinity” on which the accused strangled him on the spot. 

On the night of the incident, the victim was found dead by his roommate who alerted the police. 

The case was handed over to Delhi crime branch that formed various teams to arrest the accused. the teams raided in Dehradun, Haridwar, Delhi, and Gurgaon however Virender was evasive. Meanwhile, the Gurugram police had arrested one suspect Mohit. 

The crime branch then received a specific input of his arrival at Rajendranagar area in Gurugram from where he was nabbed. 

DCP (Crime ) Rakesh Paweriya stated that tt was found during interrogation that Virender had illicit relations with the victim's mother about two years ago. This initially led to animosity that later turned into a friendship between the duo.
