Seven dogs dead in Pitampura due to electrocution, police register FIR

New Delhi, June 9
Seven dogs were found dead at Maurya Enclave in Pitampura area of Northwest Delhi. The case that initially appeared to be caused by poisoning to kill dogs led to immense disturbance.
After several days of running pillar to post, the animal lovers and an NGO Indiestrays Foundation got an FIR registered with police.
Preeti from Indiestrays Foundation said, “The dogs were killed due to negligence of te house owner who had left high voltage cable open that led to electrocution. Seven dogs died due to electrocution. Ater calling all activists and receiving no help, we got the FIR registered ater lot of struggle”.
The innocent dogs were near tin shed where the current had reached from the cables. The police searched the premises and found open wres ad cables near the shed.
The incident took place on May 25 in wee hours and FIR was registered on June 5. The bodies of the dogs were sent from post mortem where the doctors confirmed death due to electrocution.
The police have registered the FIR under Section 125 of the BNS.
