Delhi Crime Branch arrests two aides of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in the Rajouri Garden extortion case

New Delhi, September 23
Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested two members of the Salman Tyagi-Naresh Sethi-Lawrence Bishnoi gang, wanted in two cases of extortion in Rajouri Garden of West Delhi.
The police stated that on the night of September 19 and 20, two consecutive incidents of gunfire took place in Rajouri Garden. In the first incident, accused persons identified as Deepanshu alias Monu and Moinuddin alias Salman came to Zaika Restaurant in Subhash Nagar on a scooter and shot at the flex board of the restaurant twice.
The same accused reached Gulati Handloom and shot thrice in front of the shop. It came to the fore later that this firing was also done to carry out an extortion demand of Rs 50 lakh each from the owners of the two establishments.
The crime branch laid down a trap and arrested Moinuddin and Deepanshu near Pacific Mall in Subhash Nagar.
Special CP (Crime), Ravindra Yadav stated that Deepanshu disclosed that he is a close associate of notorious gangster Tyagi, lodged in Mandoli jail. He keeps meeting Tyagi in jail and during one of the visits last week, the latter instructed him to make the extortion demand from the businessmen.
Tyagi arranged two pistols, both the accused opened fire in front of the victims’ shops to instill a sense of fear in them and get the extortion amount.
The crime branch stated that more than 25 heinous cases were registered against him, and along with his associates, he killed a renowned businessman, namely Ajay Choudhary of Keshopur Mandi.
Special CP Yadav added that Tyagi has been in jail for several years, however he still runs his gang from inside prison and extorts money from businessmen.
