Delhi Crime Branch busts drug syndcate and seizes 156.7 kg of high-quality marijuana worth Rs 78 lakhs

The Delhi Crime Branch bused an interstate narcotics syndicate operating in Delhi-NCR, leading to the seizure of 156.7 kg of high-quality marijuana worth Rs 78 lakhs.
The police identified the arrested men as Vijay Singh (43) and Amit (45) who were arrested from Raja Garden area.
The crime branch added that Vijay from Rajasthan was employed as a driver and worked as a courier for the syndicate, facilitating the movement of large quantities of the drug from Nagpur to Delhi. Amit, a relative of Vineet played a crucial role in arranging the distribution of drugs.
The police set up a trap on February 24 near the Raja Garden Flyover on Ring Road and Vijay, who was driving a white car, was caught red-handed while attempting to deliver marijuana to Amit. Upon searching the vehicle, 75 plastic sacks filled with 156.7 kg of marijuana was found, a quantity classified as a commercial-grade narcotic under the NDPS Act.
During questioning, Vijay allegedly admitted to the police that he transported drugs for Amit, who had directed him to procure marijuana from Nagpur under the supervision of Vineet, a higher-ranking member of the syndicate. Amit, identified as a key recipient and distributor of the illegal consignment, was then arrested.
