DELHI CRIME BRANCH NARCOTICS CELL ARRESTS TWO DRUG SUPPLIERS, HEROIN WORTH RS. 60 LAKHS SEIZED

The Narcotics Cell of Delhi Crime Branch busted alleged narcotic chain of supplying heroin in the city and arrested two peddlers. The crime branch seized over 500 grams of heroin with international market value of Rs. 60 lakhs.
The arrested peddlers were identified as Sonu alias and Dinesh alias Tinda of Uttam Nagarand Majnu ka Tila.
DCP Crime (Narcotics Cell), Chinmoy Biswal stated that the accused had been running a supply network of heroin in Uttam Nagar and Majnu ka Tila and their arrest has broken a strong supply chain of the contraband in the area.
While zeroing in on contraband supply chains in the national capital, the narcotics cell received specific information on March 4 that one person namely Sonu who is involved in supply of contraband Heroin would be coming near JJ Colony at Shiv Vihar in the area of Uttam Nagar to supply Heroin to someone.
The police team laid a trap near Shiv Vihar and apprehended him. He was found in possession of one bag allegedly containing contraband 270 grams Heroin.
During interrogation, the accused Sonu reportedly disclosed that he had been residing in the area of Uttam Nagar for the last several years. He first started selling illicit liquor for earning livelihood. He used to procure illicit liquor from Bahadurgarh and several cases were registered against him under Delhi Excise Act.
The officials added that he started consuming Heroin and found that the persons selling contraband earned quick and more money as compared to bootlegging. Hence, he also started selling Heroin ‘pudia’ to smack addicts of the area and gradually built his own client base.
He has been found previously involved in eight cases of Delhi Excise Act, theft etc. showing his active involvement in crime since the year 2011.
The narcotics cell had been developing information in the area of Majnu Ka Tilla Delhi also. Based on specific information, the crime branch apprehended Dinesh who is involved in the supply of contraband Heroin. The police team laid a trap near Wazirabad Flyover and grabbed him. During search, contraband 300 grams of Heroin was recovered from his possession.
During his interrogation, Dinesh disclosed that he had been residing at Majnu Ka Tila for the last several years and started committing crimes of robbery & theft. He claimed to have started selling Heroin for money.
The accused Sonu has been involved in cases of Uttam Nagar, Dwarka, Mundka, Rangila and Bahadurgarh police stations while Dinesh was allegedly found involved in similar cases at Model Town and Civil Lines police stations.
The crime branch has booked both the accused NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act).
The narcotics cell is further investigating the case to identify the entire chain of drug trafficking in both the cases.
