The Delhi Crime Branch busted a major drug racket and seized high-quality hashish, known as Malana Cream or Black Gold worth Rs 2 crores which was procured from Himachal Pradesh and was meant to be transported to Goa for “rave parties” to celebrate New Year and Christmas.
The crime branch also held three alleged drug traffickers. The operation was carried out following a tip-off received on December 18.
The police identified the accused as Gopal Chauhan, a resident of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh,who was allegedly transporting the drugs to Delhi in his car and police teams tracked him down; seized 3.68 kg of Malana Cream. A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS Act).
The police added that Joo, also known as Jelmes Savio Fernandes, was arrested on December 21 and Jordan Furtado was arrested in Himachal Pradesh following Fernandes’ arrest. Fernandes, a Portuguese national, had relocated to Malana to allegedly procure hashish to sell in Goa and other southern states.
The officials added that the main receiver was identified as Furtado, a Portuguese national. He was allegedly responsible for selling drugs at rave parties in Goa, particularly to foreign nationals.
