Delhi Crme Branch arrests three of gangster Himanshu Bhau gang in an encounter

New Delhi, February 24

The Delhi Crime Branch arrested three accomplices of gangsters Himanshu Bhau and Neeraj Bawana have been arrested following an encounter in Rohini’s Begumpur area. 

The crime branch has identified them as Identified as Atul alias Monty alias Jacky (32), Rohit (31), and Prince (20), the three were travelling on a motorcycle when they were spotted near Prem Adhe Road in Begumpur.

The crime branch informed that when the police attempted to stop the vehicle, one of them opened fire at the team. In retaliation, police teams opened fire at them.

The police recovered a sophisticated semi-automatic pistol, two country-made pistols, and five live cartridges.

According to the crime branch, three suspects operated for gangsters Bhau and Bawana. While Bawana is lodged in Delhi’s Tihar Jail, Bhau currently runs his network virtually from Portugal.

Bhau has had over 20 criminal cases, at least 16 related to murder and attempts to murder, lodged against him. The Interpol had issued a Red Notice against him and he is on the radar of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Elaborating more on the accused, the officials informed that Atul was involved in the murder of one Abhishek from Bawana along with his associates and was subsequently arrested. While in jail, he met Neeraj Bawana and Naveen alias Bali. From the prison, he made extortion and threat calls to one politician of Bawana to influence a key witness in the murder case against him. 

Atul had been previously booked in seven cases related to murder, firing, extortion, Arms Act, and theft, lodged at police stations in Delhi and Haryana.

The police said Rohit completed his civil engineering degree from JKB Polytechnic in Sonipat and joined the Army in 2013, but later left the service. In 2017, he was allegedly involved in a robbery with his associates in Narela and was subsequently arrested. In 2019, he allegedly committed another robbery involving an Ola cab at Sonipat in Haryana. In 2020, Rohit, along with his associates Mohit and Dinesh alias Dhinna, murdered Rajeev due to a family dispute. He was released on bail from Tihar Jail in 2024.

Rohit had been previously booked in six cases linked to murder, robbery, snatching, and theft, lodged at various police stations in Delhi and Haryana.
