The Delhi Economic Offences Wing (EOW) arrested three from UP and Delhi for allegedly cheating victims in a ponzi scheme promising higher returns for investment.
The accused was identified Ajay Sahu from Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, Ram Kishore Sharma and Rahul Sharma from Delhi.
The EOW stated that complaint of Ram Kishore Sharma and others had filed a complaint that the accused persons allured them of getting high returns on their investment and assured them that the company (i.e. Ever Green Global) will return the amount of Rs. 12,000/- on investment of Rs. 10,000/- within three months and Rs. 15,000/- will return within six months. On this assurance the victims invested their hard earned money in Ever Green Global Company.
In 2018, one of the accused Rahul left the company Ever Green Global and started his own business in the name of Welcome Biz.com and assured the victims that the old installments will be returned if they invest the money in his company. Believing the assurances the victims invested in the new company and the alleged person did not return their hard earned money and ran away after shutting down their office which was situated at 50, First Floor, Sadulajab, M. B. Road. An amount of Rs. 96, 22,300/- were collected from 41 victims, officials added.
The EOW investigation revealed that Ram Kishore Sharma introduced all the complainants to Rahul Sharma and Ajay Sahu and he along with the other co-accused induced and allured the complainants by showing lucrative schemes and pay high returns in a very short period. The investigation and the statements of the victims corroborated the facts.
The officials added that further it was revealed that when the accused Ajay Sahu left the company and fled away from Delhi in the year 2018, accused Ram Kishore Sharma and Rahul Sharma paid profits to the older investors by using funds obtained from newer investors. There are large number of innocent persons who invested their hard money in the company on the assurances of the above mentioned accused persons. After collecting crores of rupees from the innocent persons they closed the company, shut down their office and fled away.
Ram Kishore Sharma is the complainant of the instant case. During the course of investigation his active involvement has been emerged and it was found that he made the complaint before the EOW to shift the liability over the other co-accused persons. The investigation also revealed that he regularly sits in the office of the alleged companies i.e. Ever Green Global & Welcome Biz.com and amount were transferred to his account regularly from the other co-accused Rahul Sharma’s account, and was arrested in the instant case.
According to the EOW, the accused had induced the victims by way of lucrative offers of high returns on their invested money in a short period.
A raid was conducted at Badaun Uttar Pradesh, Sarai Rohilla, Delhi and Jawahar Park Khanpur Delhi where the accused was arrested.
While Ram Kishore Sharma is Electrical Contractor, Ajay Sahu is running a Shop and Rahul Sharma is a driver.
