Delhi IGI airport, hospitals receive bomb threat after schools

While the hoax call was received at the airport, the hospitals received emails containing bomb threats

New Delhi, May 13

The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, along with at least eight hospitals in Delhi received bomb threats. The Delhi police confirmed that the threats were hoax. 

The police stated that a phone call was received on May 12 evening regarding a bomb at the terminal. The police and bomb disposal squads were deployed at Terminal 3 of the airport; after a thorough check, nothing suspicious has been found so far.

Two hospitals- Burari Hospital and Sanjay Gandhi Hospital also received the bomb threats through email on on may 13 afternoon before the airport. Burari Hospital MD Dr Ashish Goyal received the threat at around 3 pm. In the said email, it was claimed that a bomb has been placed in the hospital.

The bomb disposal and police teams rushed to the spot and found nothing. 

Earlier this month, over 150 schools received similar mails, which were a hoax.
