Delhi Police arrest a man from Haryana for cheating airline job aspirants in Delhi

New Delhi, April 7

The Delhi Police have arrested one who allegedly duped people of lakhs of rupees by promising them job opportunities in various airline companies.

The accused was identified as Rohit claimed who was struggling for work since two years and took a shortcut to earn money,

The case came to fore in December last year when a person named Praveen Kumar filed a complaint stating that his wife was duped after she visited an advertisement link on Instagram regarding vacancies in an airline company and lost more than Rs 8 lakh. 

The officials stated that when the complainant opened the link, she was diverted to another ID called ‘airlinejoballindia’. She filled in her particulars in the given format and submitted it online. Thereafter, she received a telephone call on the given mobile number wherein the caller introduced himself as Rahul from the airline recruitment service.

The police said that as instructed by the executive, the woman made a registration fee of Rs 750 after the company accepted her form. However, in the name of gate pass fee and insurance security money, the person made her deposit Rs 8.69 lakh and continued to demand more money. The woman understood it was a fraud and then filed a complaint, 

The police analysed the bank account of the accused was found to be fake and most of the withdrawals were traced to Hisar in Haryana from where he was arrested.

The police have booked the accused for cheating and fraud under various sections of the IPC.
