Delhi Police arrest three, rescue a new born and bust a human trafficking network in Uttam Nagar

The Delhi Police rescued a newborn was rescued and held three members of an interstate human trafficking network from Uttam Nagar.

The three accused have been identified as Yashmin, 30, Anjali, 36, and Jitender 47. They are residents of Uttam Nagar, Malviya Nagar, and Madangir, respectively, said officers. Anjali was previously involved in a case investigated by the CBI.

DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh started that police team received a tip-off about a human trafficking network operating in Uttam Nagar. The team started keeping a watch on the suspects and call detail records of more than 20 numbers were analysed. The police received a tip-off about their presence in the Uttam Nagar area. 

The officials added that the accused revealed that the gang was being operated across states. During questioning, they disclosed that on the instructions of gang leader Saroj, they along with their associates, bring newborns from Rajasthan and Gujarat and used to sell them to rich families in Delhi for around Rs 5-10 lakhs.
