Delhi Police arrests a wanted criminal in an an encounter near Vikaspuri

New Delhi, March 29
The Delhi Police arrested wanted criminal in an an encounter near Vikaspuri.
Thr accused was identified as Akash Jha alias Monu from Indra Camp in Vikaspuri.
DCP (West) Vichitra Veer said, “Akash Jha was arrested in a case of firing in Mayapuri Police station area in 2024 and came out of jail in November 2024. Recently there were complaints that he is roaming around in the area, trying to extort money, although no one came forward to lodge a formal complaint”.
He added, “The police team traced his hideout in Indira Camp Vikaspuri. When the team raided the premises at around 1:30 am he opened fire at the police party, which hit one of the staff on the bullet proof jacket. The police team fired in self defense, which hit the assailant in the left leg, just below the knee. He was immediately taken to DDU hospital, where he is under treatment”.
Akash Jha alias Monu has been involved in multiple cases of robbery, firing and hurt. He is also reportedly wanted in a case of Gunda Act of Police Station, Gautam Budh Nagar(UP).
