Delhi Police arrests immigration fraudster from Punjab, wanted since 13 years

The Delhi Police arrested a man from Punjab, who had been absconding for over 13 years in an immigration fraud case at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

The wanted accused was identified as Manjeet Singh aka Bitto who was declared a proclaimed offender in 2013 by Patiala House Court, New Delhi. wanted accused was identified as Manjeet Singh aka Bitto who was declared a proclaimed offender in 2013 by Patiala House Court, New Delhi. 

DCP (IGI) Usha Rangnani stated that thr intervening night of November 15 and 16, 2011, the authorities during immigration checks at IGI Airport had found that passport of Kulvinder Kaur, an Indian citizen travelling from Austria, had been used for multiple entries and exits, including a fraudulent return trip arranged by Singh, a Ludhiana native. 

During her interrogation, police learnt that Bitto had facilitated another person’s journey from Austria to Delhi using her passport.

Bitto’s associate, Gurdeep Singh, was arrested in November 2011. Bitto managed to give police the slip despite numerous raids, police added. 

Bitto also confessed to his role in arranging Kaur’s travel and facilitating the fraudulent journey using her passport in 2009.
