Delhi Police busted a gang that robbed at gun point in wee hours

New Delhi, March 22

The Delhi Police arrested two of an alleged gang that robbed a family to gun point in Uttamnagar and fled with all the valuables. 

The accused were identified as Bharat alias Sanjay Balchand (27) of Uttam Nagar. He is previously involved in 18 cases of snatching, theft and robbery. The second accused was identified bas Vikas Bheerghu Nath (26) of Jai Vihar. He is previously involved in 20 cases of Snatching, theft and robbery. 

DCP Dwarka Santosh Meena stated that the accused used to mortgage the gold at Muthoot Finance and procured loan against gold. The police found six receipts of gold loan from the accused. 

The officials stated that the complainant, Rajni while getting her complaint registered told police that three boys came to her house and showed them pistol and knife and robbed  two gold rings, four gold ear tops, two gold chain,  one gold nose pin, some silver jewellery and cash. 

The police scanned more than 100 CCTV cameras and analysed their CCTV footage, mounted technical and manual surveillance and conducted several raids in Mehandipur Balaji (Rajasthan) and Delhi and NCR. 

The police added that during the interrogation both accused disclosed that they used to deposit robbed gold articles in Muthoot finance in the name of their women associate/girlfriend and take gold loan.

The police seized one countrymade pistol, three live cartridges, one toy pistol, two dagger knives, two laptops, five mobile phones and receipts of gold loan..

The accused are believed to have struck at many more places where such broad daylight robberies took place. The police are further investigating the case.
