The Delhi Police Dwarka District in a massive operation 'Varchasvav' held the assailants who fired at Mittal Sweets owner in Delhi
The accused were identified as Arjun alias Majboori Matan in Jhajjar, Haryana and Sonu Shyam Sunder, Village Kanjhawla in Delhi. The police also held the mastermind Rohit alias Cheeta who was out on parole.
As per the case details, the Najafgarh police had received a call from Ashok Mittal resident of Gupta Park in Najafgarh, regarding firing at his shop.When the police reached the spot Mittal stated that about 06:00 PM, two persons having their faces covered with mask and gamcha came at his shop, Mittal Sweets located at Chhawla Stand in Najafgarh. These two muffled faced men fired four rounds with the intention to kill him. The police found two misfired rounds and two empty rounds were found, which were seized from the spot.
The police collected the CCTV footage of the incident and after mounting technical surveillance, the routes taken by the shooters after the firing were tracked. F
The officials said that from the route taken by the shooters two possibilities came into light that either the shooters would have taken the route towards Bahadurgarh or towards Dhansa border. Undersigned made an all-out interstate coordinated efforts to trace the shooters especially with district Jhajjar police.
The Jhajjar policed had picked up the duo and informed Dwarka police.
The officials added that it was also revealed that one accused namely Sonu was handed over by one acharya namely Vijyapal of the gurukul ashram of Jhajjar where the accused persons took shelter. Another accused namely arjun who had fled from the gurukul was arrested on the pointing out of the first accused Sonu.
DCP Dwarka Shankar Chaudhary stated that a massive search was launched under the operation 'Varchasvav' where team of Dwarka District police and Jhajjar police worked to nail down the shooters. Arjun revealed that they have just executed the plan, but the actual mastermind behind this incident is Rohit Gehlot alias Cheeta belonging to nandu gang, who provided three pistols, one scooty and the money to execute the plan. He further revealed that the motive to create panic in the area so that he can get desired ransom amount from the local shopkeepers in the ongoing festivals season for Amit Gulia of nandu gang and also for other gangs if possible.
The Haryana Police has also registered a case under sections 451/34 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act in Jhajjar against both the surrendered accused persons.
The police had received information that the mastermind of the Mittal firing case is going to meet one of his associates at around 2-3 AM near DDA Park, Kali Basti, Uttam Nagar to supply fire arms. The police raided the spot and trapped Rohit Gehlot @ Cheeta from Uttam Nagar when he was going on stolen motorcycle to meet someone.
The accused tried to shoot at police and escape however the police team fired in self-defence and one bullet hit the left leg of the criminal. He was overpowered and sent to hospital for treatment.
The police registered a case against Cheeta under sections 186/353/307/411 IPC & 25/27 Arms Act was registered at Uttam Nagar. He is on parole from 10 June 2021 to November 15.
