Delhi Police have arrested five cyber fraudsters from different locations in Rajasthan and Gujarat

New Delhi, April 18
The Delhi Police have arrested five cyber fraudsters from different locations in Rajasthan and Gujarat for allegedly defrauding people in various ways over the last two years.
The police conducted a two-day special operation targeting rising cybercrime hotspots, specifically in Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ahmedabad.
The arrested men have been identified as Zakir, 32; Karan Swami, 20; and Javed, 20, from Jaipur; Tejas, 26, from Ahmedabad and Mohammad Sohail, 26, from Jodhpur.
According to the police, the accused were involved in three methods of cyber fraud. They reportedly posed as bank customer care representatives to trick victims into revealing sensitive information under the guise of enhancing credit card facilities. The arrested men also allegedly impersonated relatives to send fake SMS messages regarding money transfers, and lured individuals into fraudulent online job schemes that promised earnings for likes, shares, or investments.
The investigation led police to transactions worth approximately Rs 50 lakh occurred through the alleged bank accounts connected to these frauds. The police seized mobile phones and an active SIM cards and more from the accused.
