The Delhi Police North West District arrested five dacoits in Pitampura broad daylight loot case
The accused were identified as Rajat alias Karan Gaur, Santosh Shah, Deepak Jha, Parvez Siddiqui and Sameer, all from Kirari Suleman Nagar, Delhi and four conspirators identified as Zafar Mohd Shakur, Rakesh Soni from Premnagar, Vikas Thakur and Sumit from Kirari Suleiman Nagar.
As per the case details, Parveen Jain filed a complaint that he along with two other office staff namely, Rajesh and Vipin were present in the office at Pitampura wherein at about 2:30 pm, four unknown persons entered into his office on the pretext of checking samples of rice and robbed cash and mobile phones of all three employees at the point of pistol and knives and fled away on two motorcycles.
The police formed special teams to track down the accused. The police scanned CCTV footages of cameras installed at and analyzed the place of incident in which five persons were seen coming to the place of incident on two motorcycles who were wearing helmets and committed this crime and then fled away from the spot on the same motorcycles, carrying two-three bags in their hands.
Around 250-300 cameras on routes were checked and it was found that they had come from Kirari, Suleiman Nagar side. The teams travekd down the motorcycle registration numbers of both Hero Splendor motorcycles i.e. DL4S DF 1261 and DL4S CS 3968 which were being ridden by them.
The police kept a watch in the area and through surveillance they nailed down Vikas Thakur amd his Splendor motorcycle no. DL4S DF 1261 (used in the commission of offence) was recovered from his possession. The police then arrested Sumit alias Bihari and his Splendor motorcycle no. DL4S CS 3968 (used in the commission of offence) was recovered from his possession.
The police added the duo spilled the beans on other accused. They claimed their share of Rs. 50,000/- and Rs. 80,000/- were recovered on their instance.
The police conducted raids at possible hideouts of main accused Rajat Gaur, Deepak, Santosh, Parvez and Sameer but it was found that they had rushed to somewhere outside Delhi to evade their arrest.
All were traced at one of the hideouts in Delhi after days of surveillance.
The officials added that during further interrogation, they disclosed that they had committed this dacoity on tip of Jafar and Rakesh who are employees of Deepak Goyal, one of the business associate of the complainant at Vishram Chowk, Vijay Vihar. Accordingly, Jafar and Rakesh were apprehended.
The officials added that Jafar & Rakesh knew the presence of huge cash in the office of complainant and they conspired with Rajat, Deepak, Santosh, Parvez & Sameer to commit this crime in the office of the complainant. Jafar and Rakesh were the persons who had made all plans and had shown all the places and routes of escape for executing the dacoity.
The accused fled to Patnitop in Jammu where they stayed there for 3-4 days. Then they fled to Lucknow through Delhi and stayed there for five to six days. Thereafter, to Nepal and stayed in Nepal for a week.
