Delhi Police Outer District rescued 17 child labourers from Nihal Vihar

New Delhi, March 21

The Delhi Police Outer District alongwith Labour Department (West), Chid Welfare Committee and social activists rescued 17 children in six locations at Nihal Vihar

The children were taken for medical check-up by CDMO and the  documentation formalities were carried out by Labour Dept and NGO (Bachpan Bachao Andolan).

The rescued children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee and duly admitted them at shelter homes, Nirmal Chhaya Complex at Hari Nagar and Mukti Ashram Keshav Nagar at Ibrahimpur. 

The Nihal Vihar police station also registered a case under Section 370,.374 IPC and  74 and 75 of the Juvenile Justice (care and protection of children Act, 2015,  and 16/17/18 Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act 1976.

DCP (Outer) Parvinder Singh stated that as per the preliminary statement of the rescued child labourers, the employers have violated the provisions u/s 3/14 of Child Labour Adolescent ( Prohibitions & Regulation) Act, 1986, Section 75/79 of Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act-2015, Section 16,17, 18 of Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act and Section 370 & 374 and the rules thereunder and other relevant provision of  IPC as well.  

The police are further investigating the case.
