Delhi Police Outer North District held a dreaded criminal after an encounter

The special staff of the North Outer District arrested a dreaded criminal who along with his friends, assaulted and robbed a constable of Jahangir Puri police station.
The accused identified as Pramod Mulla had fired several rounds at the office of a property dealer.
As per the case details, on November 25, constable Amardeep was posted on picket duty where two people were abused on the way. Constable Amardeep stopped Pramod Mulla and asked him not to abuse him. Just then, one of them took out a pistol from him and pressed the trigger on his chest, but the bullet could not fire.
He later started beating the constable along with his associate and also robbed his purse and left him in an injured condition. They opened fire outside the office of a property dealer and then started firing. Amardeep had then filed a complaint at the police station.
The police laid a trap after tracing the accused through technical surveillance. During the arrest operation, when the police team asked Pramod to stop, he started firing fearlessly at the police. The police also opened fire on their defense and Pramod was shot exchange of fire.
The officials added that Mulla, a seasoned criminal is a resident of Swaroop Nagar and has been involved in several robberies, attempts to murder and other serious cases in the past. The police also seized a pistol and a stolen bike were recovered from Pramod during the encounter.
The encounter led to injuring of one police personnel from the team.
