Delhi Police South East District arrested two who burgled, conned people by helping them get stolen items

The Delhi Police South East District arrested two who conned people by charging money to get stolen items recovered. The victims reportedly money to them to get back stolen items and further got robbed.

The accused were identified as Nirmal Pandey (24) from Najafgarh and Kundan Pandey (24) also from Najafgarh. Both are  drug addicts who recently got into criminal activities to fulfill his addiction for cannabis and other contraband substances.

DCP (South East), RP Meena stated that the duo used to burgle homes and later contact the victims that they would help them get burgled items back if they sent money into their PhonePe accounts.

The police said several incidents of night burglary were reported in the area of Tehkhand village Okhla Phase-I wherein the burglars were asking the complainants to transfer the amount in their PhonePe account in order to release their stolen articles. The police sought CDR of mobile number associated with the PhonePe account of accused persons. On the analysis of same, the location of the accused persons was found to be in the area of Nangli Dairy in Nazafgarh of Delhi.
In addition to that, the police also analysed the CCTV footage of the cameras installed in the area of incidents were also analysed and the footage of the suspected persons was shown to the local residents. 

One of the suspects was identified as Nirmal Pandey who used to reside in Tehkhand village a year back. His photograph was also procured, police added.

The police conducted search for the accused in and around the Nangli Dairy.  Nirmal Pandey along with his associate Kundan Pandey were traced and arrested from Najafgarh. The police seized three stolen mobile phones, a laptop and two debit cards were recovered.  

The police stated that during their interrogation, the accused disclosed about their involvements in the incidents of house burglaries in the area of Tehkhand village. All these articles have been connected in different FIRs registered in Okhla.police station. Both the accused persons are budding criminals who have recently started the house burglaries in order to earn quick money, police further said.

With their arrest, police busted three similar cases of Okhla Industrial Area. The police are further investigating the case to find more victims.
