DELHI POLICE SPECIAL CELL ARREST AIDE OF OF NEERAJ BAWANIA, NAVEEN BALI GANG WHO WAS ARRESTED AFTER A BRIEF ENCOUNTER

New Delhi, March 13

The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested an associate of Neeraj Bawani and Naveen Bali gang from Nawada. The special cell arrested Kamal after a brief encounter where Kamal was reportedly shot at his leg when he tried to escape his arrest. 

The accused identified as Kamal Gahlot (21) a resident of Nawada. He was prime accused in daylight  murder of Vikas Mehta in the area of Mohan Garden. 

DCP Special Cell, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav states that the accused, in order to escape fired at two policemen and one constable and in self defence police fired at Kamal on his leg. 

The special cell received a specific information that one Kamal would be coming to Mohan Garden in a white Santro car via Mundka Industrial Metro Station. The police were also told that the accused always remains armed with weapon and also does not hesitate to fire upon police party in case he senses apprehension. 

The officials added that a raiding team was constituted and a snare was srategically laid at UER II between Mundka Industrial Metro Station and High way Apartments, Bakkarwala, Delhi. At about 02.00 am, a white Santro Car without number plates came on UER II from Mundka Industrial Metro Station side. The Police blocked the road with their vehicles and accused was signaled to stop after disclosing police identity but he did not bothered to follow the signal and rather in a bid to escape his car struck at the road side. 

The officials further said, the accused came out from the car and whipped out his pistol and fired three rounds aiming at police. In this two police officials narrowly escaped. One bullet fired by the accused hit the bullet proof jacket worn by head constable Lokendra Singh who had a lucky escape.

In self defence, police officials also fired two rounds due to which accused Kamal Gehlot was injured in his left leg. He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital with the help of PCR, officials added. 

The special cell seized one loaded pistol with two live rounds and one revolver loaded with four live rounds were recovered from his possession. The recovered Santro Car was found stolen from the area of Rani Bagh.

The special cell has booked a case  under Section 186, 353, 307 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.


Elaborating more on Kamal, the officials said that Jamal's father is a property dealer in the area of Uttam Nagar and has one office in Vipin Garden in the name of “Shiv Shakti”. His uncle (Chacha) namely Parveen Gehlot aka Golu was involved in many criminal cases. His uncle was an active member of Manjit Mahal- Pradeep Solanki gang and was engaged in grabbing properties illegally with the help of gang members. After arresting of Manjit Mahal and Pradeep Solanki in a case of MCOC Act, some dispute raised for ownership percentage on a property in Uttam Nagar between his uncle and Pardeep Solanki. 

During that period, sharp shooter of Manjit Mahal- Pradeep Solanki gang namely Vikas Dalal escaped from police custody and he murdered Parveen Gehlot aka Golu in May 2019 for that property on the direction of Pardeep Solanki. The accused Vikas Dalal was also killed in that encounter. The accused Kamal was very close to his uncle Praveen Gehlot. After the murder of his uncle, he decided to take revenge of his uncle’s murder. In the meanwhile, he was arrested in two robbery cases and went to Tihar jail where he joined Neeraj Bawania and Naveen Bali gang, a rival gang of Manjeet Mahal& Pradeep Solanki Gang.

After coming out from jail, he murdered one Vikas Mehta of West Uttam Nagar who was a property dealer of Uttam Nagar and a conspirator in the murder of his uncle.Kamal shot him at his head thrice and after the murder, he captured photos of deceased Vikas through his mobile phone. The police had earlier arrested his father Pawan Gehlot.


Kamal was previously involved in three cases of robbery and murder too. The special cell is further investigating the case.
