Delhi Police Special Cell arrests three assailants in Dera follower Pardeep Kataria's sensational murder

New Delhi, November 11
The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested three persons in connection with the sensational killing of Dera follower Pardeep Singh Kataria.
Pardeep Singh Kataria alias Raju Dhodhi, 38, was shot at around 7:15 am while he was about to open his dairy shop at Kotkapura in Faridkot. A security personnel provided to him by Punjab Police and a bystander sustained bullet injuries in the incident.
He was a follower of Dera Sacha Sauda and an accused of 2015 Bargari Sacrilege case.
A total of 60 bullets were fired at Kataria in a brutal murder at Kotkapura of Faridkot in Punjab on November 10.
Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar claimed responsibility for the murder through a social media post. Brar, the main accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in May, said in the social media post that “justice had not been delivered in the sacrilege case even after seven years of the incident and despite governments changing thrice in state”.
The text further read that whoever disrespects any religion, will meet the same fate. “The Hindu-Sikh brothers have taken this revenge together because Guru Sahib is common to all,” read the social media post.
The post also apologised for the injury to the security personnel but also questions the need to provide security to people accused of sacrilege.
The incident was caught on CCTV installed nearby. Two of the assailants arrived first and parked their motorcycles at some distance. Later four more arrived on two bikes. The two who had arrived reached Pardeep’s shop and opened fire at him and immediately ran back.
Pardeep’s gunman Hakam Singh retaliated following which the other other assailants waiting outside also opened fire. Several shots were fired in which Hakam Singh and a former municipal councillor Amar Singh who was standing nearby sustained bullet injuries, added police.
A team of Special Cell raided in the area of in Patiala and arrested the three of the six accused.
The accused have been identified as Jitender (26) from Kalanaur, Rohtak and two CCLs from Bhiwani and Rohtak.
The office stated that there were a total of six assailants; four from Haryana ( the fourth absconding of Haryana module with an alias Hooda) and two from Punjab Module.
The different modules were being handled independently by Canada based Goldy Brar, associate of fugitive Harvinder Singh alias Rinda and jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi..
Efforts are underway to apprehend the other absconders, added officials.
Based on a complaint by Pardeep’s wife Simran Kaur, an FIR was lodged against unknown persons on charges of murder, attempt to murder, rioting with deadly weapon, unlawful assembly and under relevant sections of the Arms Act by Punjab Police.
