Delhi Police Special Cell busts a racket of illegal firearms, two gun runners of Lawrence Bishnoi – Sampat Nehra gang arrested

New Delhi, April 8

The Delhi Police Special Cell busted a racket of illegal firearms and held two gun runners of Lawrence Bishnoi – Sampat Nehra gang. 

The duo have been identified as Aditya Rajput alias Kaka and Kuldeep Singh alias Makhan, both from Amritsar in Punjab. Eight good quality pistols with 08 spare magazines and 10 live cartridges recovered from the duo.

The Special Cell states that the recovered pistols were meant for supplying to the members of Lawrence Bishnoi – Sampat Nehra gang in Delhi and other gangs in Punjab.

Special CP (Special Cell), HGS Dhaliwal said, "Lawrence Bishnoi - Sampat Nehra gang has fierce rivalry with Devender Bambiha gang resulting in killing of many of their associates in gang war in Punjab and other states. The pistols were procured by the arrested duo from a firearm manufacturer-cum-supplier based at Khargone in MP. The arms were procured as per the directions of one Saurabh Pratap Singh, a member of Sampat Nehra gang. 

The Special Cell received intel that Aditya Rajput and Kuldeep Singh, two members of Lawrence Bishnoi - Sampat Nehra gang had procured a consignment of pistols from Khargone, MP. It was also revealed that both the gunrunners were on their way to Delhi to meet one of their contacts at carriageway near Mayapuri Chowk in wee hours. 

The Special Cell laid a trap and both the accused persons were spotted carrying bags in their hands at carriageway leading towards Mayapuri Chowk who were overpowered by the police team and their search was carried out. 

Special CP Dhaliwal added, "Saurabh Pratap Singh alias Sunny is a notorious gangster, presently lodged in Firozpur Jail.  The said gangster is an active member of Lawrence Bishnoi-Sampat Nehra gang and is the real brother of arrested accused Aditya Rajput. Both the accused persons also disclosed that they had to supply the pistols to the gang members of Lawrence Bishnoi-Sampat Nehra in Delhi and other gangsters in Punjab as per the directions of Sunny". 

Sunny is previously involved in many cases including that of murder, attempt to murder, extortion, NDPS Act, escape from police custody, Arms Act etc in Punjab.  The accused Kuldeep is also a habitual offender and is previously involved in two cases of rioting and attempt to murder. He is associated with Kalu gang in Punjab. This gang has rivalry with Akash alis Bholu gang in Amritsar, Punjab. Kuldeep disclosed that he had to supply the pistols to the members of Kalu gang also. 

The arrested accused persons have been supplying arms/ammunition for last three years and they have already supplied more than 100 firearms to the members of various notorious gangs in Punjab and Delhi including Lawrence Bishnoi-Sampat Nehra syndicate, officials said.
