DG Border Security Force (BSF) Daljit Singh Chawdhary visited ICP Petrapole and highly sensitive Border Out Post Ranaghat of 68th Battalion deployed on Indo-Bangladesh border in North 24 Parganas District.
The primary objective is to assess the tactical and operational preparedness and deployment strategies of BSF at these key locations in view of the recent developments in Bangladesh.
On reaching ICP Petrapole, the DG BSF along with ADG Eastern Command visited the Passenger Terminal and Cargo Terminal and reviewed the complex operational challenges faced by the troops. The Officiating Commanding Officer of 145 Battalion briefed the DG on the operational procedures of the battalion. He also visited the new ICP building.
He then visited the Ranaghat Border Outpost of 68th Battalion. He held a meeting with BSF officers to review the current situation in Bangladesh and discussed operational strategies to deal with illegal infiltration and smuggling. The Director General emphasized the need to increase vigilance and take effective measures to deal with these challenges.
DG Singh also addressed the officers and jawans in Sainik Sammelan, in which the current situation in Bangladesh was discussed and clear instructions were given for preparedness to cope with any situation. He underlined the importance of border preparedness in view of challenging conditions in Bangladesh and urged the officers and jawans to remain alert and prepared for any emerging situation.
This visit underlines the commitment of BSF to maintain strong security measures and operational efficiency in one of the most sensitive areas of the India-Bangladesh border.
