Fire breaks out in Madhya Pradesh secretariat in Bhopal

New Delhi, March 9

A fire broke out on the third floor of the Madhya Pradesh state secretariat in Bhopal. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered a probe into the incident.

The officials said that the fire was brought under control by the firefighters. No injuries or casualties were reported. 

The fire, which broke out on the third floor of the Secretariat building, spread rapidly as massive clouds of smoke loomed over the building. 15-20 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. 

Some sanitation workers noticed smoke at the Vallabh Bhawan as the secretariat building is officially known around 9.30 am. 

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told media that the fire spread from the old compound of the building. 

He said, "We have been told that the fire is under control. We are taking actions to ensure the incident is not repeated. We hope this never happens again.”
