Four personnel of Karnataka police injured as miscreants attacked police vehicle

Injured officers have been identified as ASI Shivasharana Gowda, Constable Mylarappa Sompura, Havaldar Marigowda Hosamani, and car driver Sharanappa Thimmanagouda

New Delhi, June 29

Four policemen from Karnataka police were injured after miscreants intercepted a police vehicle and attacked officers while they were taking an accused to the police station in Gadag district. 

The police officers, belonging to Gangavathi in Koppal district, were taking Amjad Ali, an accused individual, into custody. Ali's gang attacked the vehicle near a railway underbridge and shattered its window panes before fleeing with him.

The injured officers have been identified as ASI Shivasharana Gowda, Constable Mylarappa Sompura, Havaldar Marigowda Hosamani, and car driver Sharanappa Thimmanagouda, were admitted to a private hospital.

The police were in a private vehicle to pick up Ali, a resident of Gadag, when the incident occurred. Four policemen suffered minor injuries. 

The police have formed teams to trace the accused and arrest them.
