Four shoot at an accountant, rob him off Rs. 6.5 lakhs of cash in Shalimar village

Saroj Pathak (45) worked at a utensil-manufacturing factory in Wazirabad industrial area and used to hand over cash daily to the factory owner residing in Shalimar village

New Delhi, February 27

A 45-year-old accountant died after being shot at by four bike-borne men while he tried to stop them from stealing his bag containing Rs 6.5 lakh, at Shalimar village. 

The police identified the deceased as Saroj Pathak (45), who worked at a utensil-manufacturing factory in Wazirabad industrial area.

The police stated that the incident took place when Pathak was on his way to Shalimar village. The accused not only stole his bag but also fled with his scooter after shooting him.

Pathak would leave his office on a scooter with a bag of cash every day to hand it over to factory owner Ravinder Jain at Shalimar village and the accused knew about his routine. 

The police have collected the CCTV camera footage, the accused had dumped the scooter and the bike in Alipur. Both the vehicles have been recovered, police added. 

The police have launched a manhunt to hunt for the accused.
